GREENBUSH--It is with much sadness that the family of Doris M. (Shirland) Carroll announces her passing on September 15, 2019 at the age of 90.
Doris lived a good long life. She was born on August 1, 1929, the daughter of Ralph and Agnes (Grant) Shirland. Doris attended school in Milford then pursued work at Penobscot Shoe in Old Town. She then married the love of her life, Orman Carroll on July 20, 1947. She loved to cook and bake, always ensuring others were fed. She also loved to knit, and provided many with her mittens to keep their hands warm. She spent hours canning vegetables from their yearly garden that always got them through winter months. She enjoyed family camping trips to Nesowadnehunk Lake and could fly fish well.
