OLD TOWN—Carol R. King, 79, died peacefully September 17, 2019, with family by her side at a Bangor hospital. She was born December 28, 1939 in Nashua, NH a daughter of Frank and Lydia (Bishop) Rogers.
Carol was a 1958 graduate of Old Town High School and retired from the University of Maine. She was an avid reader, reading several books a week, and enjoyed playing Bingo. She was active in her community and was a member of the Red Hat Society, Pine Tree Snowmobile Club, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Eagles, Elks, Senior Citizens, was a lifetime Dedimus Justice, appointed by the governor. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, traveling, and her camper.
She is survived by her husband Fred King Jr., whom she married in April of 2014; son James Lynch and his wife Minya; two daughters Laurie Mitchell and her husband Charlie and Kristine Young, step son Mark King and his wife Annette; 6 grandchildren Kerri, Micki, Meisha, Ryan, Colin, and Derek; 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Teresa Dow, grandson Gregory Dow, granddaughter Erica Dow, great grandson Hunter Ziegenbein, and brother Frank Rogers.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10AM Monday at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, Old Town. Private interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. All are invited to the parish hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
