Billie moved to Pensacola in 1954 where she met and married her teenage sweetheart, John Barrington, Jr. They enjoyed 62 wonderful years of marriage. Billie was a 2x breast cancer survivor and had battled Alzheimer’s disease for the latter years of her life.
Friends and family that remember Billie will remember her as a dear friend, a great cook, and someone that could sew, craft, decorate cakes, braid and plat hair, and do most anything she set her mind to do. Billie and Johnny retired in 1996 and traveled with their Airstream and enjoyed several years of club travels with friends before she became ill.
She was an amazing wife and mother and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family. She had a beautiful soul that shined on everyone she met. Billie taught Sunday school and held many volunteer positions at church before becoming sick.
Billies favorite scriptures were Psalms 23, Psalms 100, and I Corinthians 13. Her grandchildren all remember her teaching them these at a very early age. Mamaw will surely be missed - until we meet again in Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers; Jimmy Rae and James Earl Ezell. She is survived by her husband; John Barrington, Jr.; her children; Martha (Danny) Pipkins and Jack (Carmen) Barrington, her grandchildren; Preston, Matthew, Alison, Tiffany, four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their children.
