September 22, 2019, in her home surrounded by friends and family.
Lynette was born April 26, 1935 in Galveston, Texas to the late Jambres Wise and Lillian Pietzch Wise.
Lynette was raised in Hitchcock, Texas and graduated from Ball High School in 1953. Shortly after graduating high school, she met and married the love of her life, Joe T. Barrington, on
October 3, 1953.
Joe and Lynette began their lives together in a small Houston, Texas apartment on Westheimer. A short time later they built their first home together in Pasadena, Texas, where they started a family of their own. Lynette and Joe welcomed three children into the world. Nancy Elaine, Joe T. Jr., and Paul Wise were their pride and joy. While raising her children, Lynette worked outside of the home for Southwestern Bell.
After raising her children, she began a career with Clear Lake Dodge, where she worked in the parts department for 32 years. Lynette worked at Clear Lake Dodge up until a month prior to her passing. She considered her coworkers her "family" and formed so many lasting friendships, most notably with her former boss Joe and his wife Michelle. In 1999, Lynette said, "see you later" to her husband Joe, after a long battle with cancer. Her children had grown and blessed her with grandchildren, who began blessing her with great-grandchildren to love.
Lynette was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jambres Wise, her husband of 46 years, Joe T. Barrington, Sr., daughter, Nancy Elaine Barrington, and sisters, Edith Eads and Louise Kaper.
Lynette was once an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Pasadena, Texas. She enjoyed "old" country music, country western dancing, a good glass of scotch, spending time with family, and, as most know, watching a good Hallmark movie with her loyal four-legged companion, Molly. Most of us have been asked, "Do you think I got a lap dog?" a time or two.
Lynette is survived by her two sons; Joe T. Barrington, Jr. (Maria) and Paul Barrington (Tanya); six grandchildren; Shanna Baker (Jody), Tom Saunders (Maria), Lindsey Nanninga (John), Erin Mims (Brandley), Mallory Barrington and Margo Pletenova; ten great grandchildren; Shelby, Jenna, Carter, Madden, Lincoln, Grant, Paizley, Madilyn, Hazel, Grace, and soon-to-be number eleven, Mila; many nieces, nephews, and extended family; and special neighbors Robert and Darlene Day.
A visitation will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Pasadena Funeral Chapel, 2203 Pasadena Boulevard, Pasadena, Texas 77502. Graveside service will be Friday, September 27, 2019 at 10:00am at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
The family will receive guests at Lynette's Pasadena home following the graveside service.
