Barbara Ann Souza

Barbara was born on August 13, 1937 in Bridgeport, CT. She was the dedicated daughter of John Lyons and Mae (husband Albert Domizio) Brust. She graduated from Central High School in Bridgeport, CT. She was employed at Tremont Sheldon Robinson Mahoney P.C. as a Legal Secretary for over 20 years, where she made lifelong, memorable friendships.

Barbara married the love of her life, John Souza Jr., whom she shared a beautiful life with for over 50 years and they are now reunited in Heaven. She was dedicated to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all aspects of their lives. She, along with her husband John, raised their granddaughters from a very young age in Trumbull, CT. She loved and always looked forward to celebrating special events and holidays surrounded by family. She had a great love for Dobermans, especially her beloved dog, Jolie and was a loyal follower of General Hospital. She was always there for anyone who needed love, support, a shoulder to cry on, or to enjoy a glass of wine with.

Barbara is survived by her son Phillip J. Ferraro Jr.; granddaughters Michele (husband RJ) Sbrega, Jackie (husband Tino) Popescu, grandson Eric Ferraro; great-grandchildren Meadow, Trey, Charlotte, Max, Ava, & Cameron; sister Mary Ann (husband Gene) Shukait, and her cherished extended family of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and very dear friends.

Barbara will always be remembered for her bright spirit, beautiful smile, caring heart, loving embrace and unconditional love. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate her life and find comfort that she is in Heaven watching over us. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts and our memories.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Saint Jude Parish Church 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468. Interment will follow at Park Cemetery 620 Lindley St, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
