Growing up in Germany, she survived World War II and the occupation of her country. She was trained as a hair dresser. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Floyd Gray. Then in 1959, she immigrated to the United States with her family. She proudly became a Citizen of the United States of America in 1963.
As a military wife for 20 years, she was in many cases both Mother and Father. Upon retirement in 1974, she moved to Yelm, Washington. There she became a co-owner of Gary's Green House for over 20 years. She spent long hours in the greenhouse watering and caring the most beautiful and gorgeous flower baskets.
Appolonia leaves behind her husband of 65 years; four children - Sonja, Floyd G., Lorna and Richard D; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was Deeply Loved and will be missed by everyone that knew her.
A memorial celebration for Appolonia will be held Friday, October 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Mills & Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Her final resting place will be in the Garden of Honor.
