Bruce Wayne Atteberry, age 61 was born on September 24, 1959 in Dallas, Texas at Stevens Park Hospital. Bruce transitioned from this earth on Sunday September 29, 2019 in Dallas, Texas after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. Bruce is survived by his loving wife and soul mate Margaret Ann Alvis-Atteberry, sister Karen Schrolemer (Bob) brothers, Paul Stuart Atteberry of Duncanville, Texas, Gregg Lewis Atteberry of Cedar Hill, Texas, Scott Wesley Atteberry of Cedar Hill, Texas and Troy Dean Atteberry of Cedar Hill, Texas. Bruce is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Alvis Hagler of Kansas and step sister Devra Rose of Red Oak. Bruce is survived by his best friend Marty Hunt of Cleburne, Texas. Bruce also leaves eight nieces, two nephews, four great nieces and two great nephews. Bruce had a special bond with his niece Jessica Suzanne Atteberry- Allison and husband Nick. Bruce had a very special relationship with his great nephew Elijah Grant Brown and great niece Summer Ellen Allison. Elijah gave Bruce the nickname of Uncle Brucie Bruce. Bruce also leaves behind his two aunts, Shirley Wheeler Ivy (Billy) and Judy Wheeler Williams. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Dean Atteberry and Nita Joann Austin; his father-in-law James Fred Alvis and mother-in-law and 2nd mother, Margaret Joyce Alvis, and his son Derek Wayne Scott Atteberry. Bruce also leaves behind his beloved cat of nine years Jack Atteberry. They were truly inseparable. Bruce attended school in Lancaster, Texas and also attended Tarleton State University. Bruce spent many years in the flooring business. Bruce loved his family dearly and enjoyed holidays when everyone was together. Bruce loved to fish. Bruce referred to the beach as his happy place. Bruce also shared his wife’s love of animals. He lived by the motto “Do not let your past define your future".
Margaret wishes to thank Troy, Bruce's Brother for staying at the hospital with her. He stayed up over 36 hours the last of couple of days to support her. She would also like to thank Paul Atteberry for caring our pets.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Friends of Tri-City Animal Shelter in the name of Bruce Wayne Atteberry.
