Lucienne Helen (Moreau) Lampert, 85, of Hyannis died peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of her late husband, John.
She was born and raised in Nashua, NH, the daughter of Henry and Eugenie (Thibodeau) Moreau.
Lucienne was a graduate of St. Louis de Gonzague Nursing School. Soon after graduation, she pursued her nursing career in San Francisco, CA and later returned to work with Massachusetts General Hospital. In 1964 she moved to the Cape where she settled in Hyannis and worked for Cape Cod Hospital for several years.
An avid traveler, "Lou," as she was known by family and friends, loved to "create the memories" that sustained her when she could no longer travel. She would regale those around her with stories of past adventures, a notable anecdote being a trip to the Holy Land with her friend Helen when they were young women, each being mistaken for a princess during different portions of the trip.
Deeply religious, Lucienne was a dedicated member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis. She served her community volunteering with numerous organizations; the Elks Club being one of her favorites.
In addition to her husband John, Lucienne is predeceased by her daughter JoAnn Curran (2017). She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth and sons Nathan, John, Michael, and Marc. One of ten children, Lucienne is survived by her brothers Paul and Henry. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lucienne's family would like to extend a special thank you to the kind and caring staff at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3rd from 4-7 pm at Doane, Beal & Ames, 160 West Main St, Hyannis, MA 02601. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am Friday, October 4th at St. Francis Xavier Church, 347 South Street in Hyannis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hyannis Elks Lodge 1549 Building Fund https://www.elks.org/lodges/home.cfm?LodgeNumber=1549 or St. Francis Xavier Parish http://stfrancishyannis.homestead.com/.
