On Sunday, September 29, 2019, Shirley Gillette, loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, niece, girlfriend and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 32, with family and friends by her side.
Shirley was born on September 14, 1987 in San Diego, CA to John Gillette and Elvia Contreras. She was raised in San Ysidro, CA. She attended Montgomery High School, and after graduation moved on to attend San Diego State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2013.
Shirley had a passion for life and she loved learning. Always had a smile on her face and had a positive attitude. She loved the ocean and going to the beach. She also loved plants, animals, photography, also arts and crafts. Very creative person to say the least. She also loved traveling and planning the next trip. She loved spending time with family and friends, and her friends she considered family. She definitely left her mark with those who got the chance to know her. She will always be remembered.
She is survived by her parents John Gillette and Elvia Contreras, her brother’s Alberto and Jessie, her boyfriend Arnoldo, and various aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and a lot of friends, and last but not least her pet cat Lilly.
