Starling Alexander Gordon passed away on September 30, 2019 at the age of 74 in San Antonio, TX. He was born on February 1, 1945 in Lake City, FL to Willie and Vinnie Gordon. He is preceded in death by his daughter: Dana Rolean McDonald; brother: George Catia; sister: Myrtle Catia and his furry friend, Max. He is survived by his son: Gerald Alexander Gordon (Marrianne); grandchildren: Caylee Laux, Kiersten McDonald, David Z. McDonald, Leon Michalke; son-in-law: David J. McDonald; siblings: Willie Gordon Jr., Lionel Gordon (Josephine), Judy Miller (Pastor Algene Miller, Sr.), George Anne Clark; Aunt: Zeffie Lee Daniels; best friend: Ella Gordon; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Starling was a caring, faithful person who was always willing to lend a hand when asked. He was a firm believer to giving back to society where he would donate to numerous charities. He was very involved with his church when he was a Sunday school teacher and a worship leader. Starling was very dependable but never one to brag about anything. He was a very fun person to know very stubborn but you loved him anyway. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at 10am at Sunset Funeral Home with
interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
