A native of Louisville, Kentucky he was born on March 15, 1937, to the late Walter and Dorothy Wolff Adams. After graduating from Flaget High School, he attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1958. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1961. Jack was employed as a Chemical Engineer in a variety of engineering and management positions with Dupont (Louisville, KY), General Electric (Mount Vernon, IN), Calgon (Pittsburgh, PA), Toyad (Latrobe, PA), Chemical Waste Management (Emelle, AL), and Rust Engineering (Birmingham, AL). He was a member of Mensa and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Jack was also a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. He was married to Carol Von Hoven Adams for 51 years until her death in 2013. Also preceding Jack in death are his brother, Tom Adams; and sister, Dorothy Bonn.
Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, David (Diane) Adams of Lancaster, PA; Dr. Eric (Dr. Jennifer) Adams of Chesapeake, VA; and Troy (Sarah Miller) Adams of Pelham, AL; brother, Dick Adams of Gladstone, MO; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Galleria Woods in Hoover, AL.
