Julia M. Cook (nee Witomski) of Hackensack, formerly from Toms River and Jersey City, passed away peacefully at her home with her daughters at her side. Julia was 94 years old. Most recently Julia was a parishioner of the Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Maywood, N.J.
Born in Jersey City to Antoni and Frances (nee Orlikowski) Witomski, Julia was the youngest of 8 children. In addition to her parents and siblings, Julia’s husband Clinton William Cook, her sons Russell Paul and Thomas James pre-deceased her. She is survived by her two daughters, Dale Cook and Jill Matthews, her daughter-in-law Regina, her grandchildren; William and Jacky Cook, Jamie Cook, John Cook and CJ Matthews and her great grand-children Khloe and Brodie Cook. In addition to her nieces, Janet Fagely, Pat Mansfield, and Judy Ruocco, and her grand niece Gabrielle Mihelich, she is survived by many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Julia enjoyed her large extended family.
Julia retired from her long time employment at the Jersey City Board of Education and then continued to work managing the Meals for Wheels operation in Lavallette, NJ into her early eighties. She moved to Hackensack 3 years ago to be closer to her daughters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held will be held, Monday 10am, October 7, 2019, at Our Lady Queen Of Peace Church, 400 Maywood Ave, Maywood, NJ 07607. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ 07607.
