He served in the US Navy where he traveled the world aboard the USS Wasp. He worked for American Laundry Association in Cincinnati, Ohio; IBM in Boca Raton, FL; (as well as he owned his own dry cleaners and laundromat for a period of time). Raymond also spent many years caring for his mother as she aged, and caring for his wife during an extended illness.
Raymond was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a loyal friend to all who knew and loved him. He loved animals, and especially enjoyed the time he spent with his dalmatian, Bubba, on hikes in the mountains of NC. If you spent any time with him you were sure to know his kindness and hear a story of his time in the Navy, or his love of travel with family and friends. He was an avid hiker, camper, and later RVer, and he always loved to work on his many antique automobiles, and show them off at car shows. He belonged to various clubs including the Jeepster Association, the Mercury Club, and the Mopar Club. He was a member of Norwood Christian Church in Ohio, and First Christian Church of Boca Raton, FL and Marion, NC.
Raymond is survived by his children; Dennis Trumbo, Brian (Laurie) Trumbo, and Connie (Todd) Campbell. Grandchildren; Christopher (Colleen) Trumbo, Caitlin (Brandon) White, and Melanie Campbell.
Great-grandchildren; Avery, Emerson, Jackson, and Preston.
Predeceased in 2003 by his wife Alice Jane Locke who he married in 1956.
A visitation for "Bud" will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064.
