Born October 4, 1945 in Port Chester, New York, he was the son of the late Morris and Francis Daner and late brother Arnold, Uncle to Fred and Mark Daner.
Richard is survived by his first wife, Lyn Daner, of Chicago, Illinois and their children Jodi Lebert (Loren); Jenny Lalor (Daniel); and Jeffrey Daner (Megan); his second wife Edelia Saldana Daner, of San Antonio, Texas and their children Rene Duarte Saldana (Deya); Virgilio Duarte Saldana (Johana); Abimael G Daner Saldana; and Ana Cecilia Daner Saldana.
Blessed with 9 grandchildren whom he loved tremendously are Dylan, Drew, Declan and Maeve Daner, Katie and Zoe Lalor, Megan Melton, Parker Lebert and Jordan Saldana.
He loved his family and lived by the words, “Just smile, be happy”.
Richard was a corporate executive for over 50 years specializing in finance and sales in the hardware industry. He built his career internationally in both North and South America. He was a graduate of Bucknell University and later earned his MBA from The University of Buffalo.
Richard had a charismatic and contagious personality always lighting up every room he was in. To be in his presence always felt like a celebration of life and God’s goodness! His passion for sports covered his beloved New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and Alabama Crimson Tide. When not watching sports he loved grabbing a basketball and shooting hoops and being on and around the golf course. He lived a full productive life and was dearly loved and admired by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019, 1pm at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 804 High House Rd, Cary, NC. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Mellow Mushroom, 4300 NW Cary Parkway for family and friends rooting on his favorite team, Roll Tide...Alabama
