It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kathleen E. Voodre on October 6, 2019, at the age of 79. While Kathleen made her home in Orlando Florida, she was born in Livonia Michigan in 1940 to Melville Hood and Alice Brown and graduated from Livonia Bentley High School in 1958. Kathleen is predeceased by her parents and older brother Sid Hood. Kathleen was a kind and gentle soul whose capacity to love was equal to her generosity as she took the time to help others by crocheting and donating prayer squares and beanies to the local hospital to ease the discomfort of adult patients and keep newborns warm, as well as crocheting slippers for our brave troops who are away from home. Kathleen’s beautiful blue eyes and an infectious smile touched anyone she met, and although she will be missed, she will never be forgotten.
Fall was Kathleen’s favorite time of year, so it seems only appropriate that as the leaves begin to change into beautiful colors of yellow, orange, and red (her favorite color) and break free from the trees that she too is set free to continue her journey. Kathleen is survived by her husband of 56 years Thomas, children Alice (David), Barry (Tammy), Chris (Mary), and Danielle (Jim) grandchildren Kory (Stacy), Mariette, Herbert, Blake, Catherine, and Brandon, as well as great-granddaughter Reese. Kathleen was a loving sister to her twin brother Hank and siblings David and Jane, as well as all her nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass to celebrate Kathleen will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 5300 Old Howell Branch Road, Winter Park, Florida, 32792.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
