“Macucha” as she was known to family and friends was preceded in death by her husband Raul. She is survived by her sons Raul and Carlos Palenzuela; daughters-in-law Patti and Lizbeth; grandchildren Carlos Jr., Francisco, Katrina, Julia and Sarah; her sister Marta, nieces Vivian and Yolanda and many cousins in the USA and in Germany.
She was born in Havana, Cuba to Federico Hoheisen Ringer and Julia Zimmermann Larrondo. From an early age she travelled regularly between Cuba and Europe during the “Golden Age” of steamship liners. She left Cuba with her husband and sons for a better life in the USA shortly after the Cuban Revolution. She raised her boys lovingly and formed many lasting friendships. She delighted in her grandchildren, was a voracious reader and appreciated the visual and performing arts, attending many exhibits in Miami and around the world. She was also a prolific artist in her own right and participated in many exhibitions through her membership in the Coral Gables Women’s Club and the American Women’s Club of Nassau, Bahamas. She also enjoyed attending reunions in Miami of the Merici Academy (Havana) Alumnae Association.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 14th, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, Florida, with a reception to follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday October 13th, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM
