John Elilu Miller, his mother always called him Johnny Miller, was born in Fort Smith Arkansas, August 4, 1926 to Reverend John Edwards and Sallie Agnes Miller. His Dad and Mother moved to Texarkana, Arkansas, where they lived till his mother passed away in 1936 when he was 10 years old.
In 1940 Reverend John E. Miller sent John to live with his older sister Lois Roberson Smith in Los Angeles, California, where he attended Lafayett Junior High, Polly Technical schools and the Los Angeles School of Music.
At the age of seventeen he changed his age to eighteen, and on November 26, 1943 was inducted into the United States Army, as a grade Tec. 5. He supervised seventeen supply clerks and served overseas-combat duty in Germany and France. He was Honorably Discharged in 1946, and returned to Los Angeles, California.
Occupation from 1949 to 1988 North American Rockwell Aircraft, hydraulic Fluid Mechanic, also self-employed J & J Record Store from 1957 to 1969 and part-time Disc Jockey during that time. In 1983, he united with Grace United Methodist Church in Los Angeles, California where he served as an Usher.
August 4, 1979 Carson City, Nevada John E. Miller united in Holy matrimony to Mary F. Greening. They moved from Los Angeles to Henderson, NV in 1994 and in 1995 they united with the Community Baptist Church, 245 E. Foster Avenue, HN, NV with Pastor Sam Roberson. Shortly after joining they joined the Usher board and John asked to serve on the trustee steward ministry.
John E. Miller is survived by his wife; Mary F. Miller of Henderson, NV, two daughters Vickie Miller of Los Angeles, CA, Vanessa and Jimmie Garrison of Atlanta, TX, son Ron and Ann Miller of Suwannee, GA from a previous wife (Albertha Jones) who has preceded him in death, and Carolyn Davis of Inglewood, CA, and Barbara Bible of Inglewood, CA; grandchildren: Anthony and Tracy Hudson of Palmdale, CA Shameka and Skeeter Means-Powell of Atlanta, TX, Michael and Kimberly Garrison of Killeen, TX, Emmanuel Hudson of Lancaster, CA, Anthony Brisco of Inglewood, CA, Najee Thornton of Los Angeles, CA and 15 Great Grand Children.
