Ima was born on January 15, 1926 in Bastrop, La to her parents James and Mary Alice Shadrach. She worked hard for over 30 years at the Pig Stand as a waitress and car hop, while also raising four children. She was their best friend, and she loved them with all her heart. Ima loved to dance and watch her shows, especially the Hallmark Channel. She helped with the VFW, and walked every morning to pick up aluminum cans. And she was never afraid to speak her mind.
Ima is survived by her daughter Alice Hayes, son Joseph Moore, and son John Moore and wife Katy, as well as eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Ima is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Roy Black, daughter Danis Walton, brothers Louis Shadrach and Lester Shadrach, and sisters Dessie Fasano, Sally Carter, and Natalie Noble.
The family would like to thank everyone at Texas Home Health hospice. Everyone has gone above and beyond for Ima. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Robin, Lauren, Judy, Roseanne, Shannon, brother Mike and many more. We deeply appreciate all you have done.
A gathering to share memories of Ima will be held from 10:00AM to 11:00AM in the chapel at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with a celebration of Ima's life to follow. Ima's committal service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park following the service.
