Born in Donkin on September 15,1938, she was the daughter of the late James and Daisy LeGrow . She spent most of her years working in the dietary department at The General Hospital in Glace Bay. Dorothy (Better known as Nana Dot) enjoyed traveling with her family, especially her time spent in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Nana Dot had a kind heart and was known for her helping hand and hospitality. You never left her house hungry.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 62 years Bob Davies; 2 children Robert (Wendy) Davies and Charlene (Richie) Green; 4 grandchildren whom she thought the world of, Mark (Deanna) Green, Lisa (Shane) Harte, Melissa (Daniel Howie) Davies and Jennifer (Tracy) Boyce; 4 great grandchildren who were the light of Nana’s life, Gracie, Allie Kate, Harper and Emmie; Brother Arthur (Lillian) LeGrow; brother in law James (Martha) Davies, sister in law Myrna Davies. Many nieces and nephews and close friends who were like family. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, James and Daisy LeGrow and brother in law Fred Davies.
Visitation will take place on Friday October 18,2019 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm in Patten Funeral Home 71 Union St Glace Bay. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday October 19,2019 at 2pm in St. Luke’s United Church Donkin.
