Linda Guyett, 71, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at the VA Central Health Care Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2019, at Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W. First Street Ankeny, IA 50023). Visitation will take place from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., prior to the services on Friday. Burial will take place at a later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel. Memorials may be directed to your favorite pet rescue in remembrance of Linda.
Linda Pearl was born on March 10, 1948, in Ida Grove, IA to George and Dorothy (Lewis) Broders. She graduated high school from Schleswig High and went on to attend the University of Northern Iowa for Library Sciences. Linda then enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving for 10 years where she studied communication skills and worked at Offutt Air Force Base. Following her service Linda worked at Land Bank National Data Processing Center in Omaha for two years then returned home to the family farm. Linda met John Guyett when she returned to Omaha to work for NDPC. Together they moved to Des Moines and were married in their home on 58th Street where they lived for 30 years.
Linda and John enjoyed traveling to many places, including New Orleans, Aspen, and Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri and stayed in a yurt in Virginia. They have had 6 loving dogs over the years and she loved reading books, either in her own personal home library or on the kindle. Most recently two years ago Linda got to meet and reconnect with her son, Brad.
Linda is survived by her husband of 31 years, John; son, Brad (Kristina) Miller and their children Erick, Allie and Chad; brothers, Ed (Mary) Broders and Lee Broders, one sister, Jan (Tom) Riha and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts and uncles.
