Martha Louise Cannatella Burt passed into Eternal Life on Sunday, October 20, 2019. She was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on March 18, 1935. She attended LSU and worked as a medical technologist. She married the love of her life, Thomas A. Burt on September 2, 1956.
They lived most of their lives in Houston, Texas, where they raised six children and Martha became a stay at home mom. Upon retirement, they moved to the Marble Falls area where they became active at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bay. They were members of St. Vincent De Paul, helped with the RCIA program, and attended Mass daily as well as volunteering with Meals on Wheels.
Martha is known for her wonderful cooking and her name can hardly be mentioned without food coming up as well. She loved to entertain friends and had many. Besides cooking, she loved to spend time loving on her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings. She is survived by her brother Frank; her husband of 63 years, Tom Burt; her children Greg and his wife Marti of Virginia; Karen and her husband David of Austin; Donnie and his wife Belinda of Florida; Michael and his partner John, of California, Tommy and his wife Chidary of Houston, Jeff and his wife Monica of Dallas, along with 12 grandchildren, Ryan, Katherine, Bernadette, Tony, Juan, Dylan, Madison, Justin, Britton, Gaven, Joshua and Zachary; and one great grandchild, Finn.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 5:30 – 6:30 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bay. Rosary will begin at 6:30. Funeral Mass will be Friday, October 25, 2019 at 1:30 pm at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
