Betty was born, November 17, 1934 in Kingsville TX, to William Edwin Posey of Kyle TX and Belle Alene Byrd of Elgin, TX. She was a student at San Marcus Baptist Academy from 1949-1952. Many of her classmates still share a friendship today. She attended Victoria College from 1953-1954 and was voted Most Attractive and a Pirate Bell her freshman year. The following year she was honored as Homecoming Queen; Pirate Bell; President and Drill Captain of the Saberettes; Class Secretary/Treasurer; Program Chairman of the choir and the President of the Baptist Student Union. She had a passion for music just like her father. They enjoyed singing all types of music with the family including the ditties Edwin wrote. This legacy of music has now been passed down to her children and grandchildren. Betty was an active member of Sweet Adelines in Victoria, TX and the lead in a winning quartet, The Pic-A-Tunes. She joined the Houston chapter, under the direction of June Ahrens, who later became the catalyst that introduced Betty to the love of her life, Raymond Sidney Milner. They married in 1972 and their love for adventure began. They traveled to the country of Belize, settled on the island of Caye Caulker where they purchased land and created their own paradise, "Sonova Beach". Betty had a passion for accounting and chose a career in Banking. She was known to have had long lines of customers who chose to wait, just to get a smile and a kind word from her. She never met a stranger and brought the gift of joy to everyone.
