Born in Manhattans west village in 1946, Helen Balestrieri was the beloved wife of Ernest Balestrieri, and mother to Christopher, Anthony and Gregory Caputo. As of October 20th, she had passed away after a 7 month battle with brain cancer.
Throughout the course of her life, Helen explored numerous occupations starting as a beautician, a hair stylist, a baker, a nursing home manager and last notably retiring from her job as the cafeteria manager at St josephs by the sea high school.
She will always be revered as a loving and selfless individual, putting family and friends above and beyond anything else. She was a fearless problem solver that challenged any obstacle that stood in the face of her and the family.
She enjoyed cooking and baking, playing cards with her friends, watching television and loved traveling for the holidays to spend time with her grandson Anthony. Those who knew Helen will always remember her for her generosity and kindness to others.
