Mrs. Fleurantin was born in Jacmel, Haiti, to her parents, Telamour and Valencia Benjamin. Her family recalls a beloved woman who might be called a ‘Renaissance Woman’. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, who, with a known trait of sincere generosity, would give her last to anyone in need. In remembering their mother, her children smiled and remember Mariella as a ‘jack of all trades’, a woman skilled in almost everything combined with the abilities of a politician, a comedian, and a Pastor.
Surviving is her beloved family – her children – Augustin Raymond Fleurantin, Marie Claire Fils, Jean Pacelli, Sr., Marie Laudz Jean-Jacques, Jude Fleurantin and Frantz (Maggie) Fluerantin; her grandchildren – Gregory, Jean Raymond, Ronald, Sonate (Lavon William), Jean Pacelli, Jr., Giovanni, Paganini, Dimitri, Jordani, Mario, Marcus, Marla, Marco, Marlaika, Marc, Jr., Hailu, Joel, Addam, Steven and Timothy, ; and her twelve great-grandchildren – especially Lauryn and Carter who were very close to their great-grandmother. She also leaves her sister, Theresa Voight; and Ms. Scarlet A. Martin, Shirley Dorsaiville and her nephew, Richard Guillet (Tiger), who cared lovingly for Mariella.
Predeceasing her is her beloved husband, Cidon; and her siblings – Sylvana Antoine, Elza Ladouceur, Celide Antoine and Marie Diendonne Jean Pierre.
