Chase was born on September 6, 1996 in Nampa, Idaho to David Gries and Jody (Gilbertson) Emerson. He grew up mostly in Parma, Idaho and graduated from Parma High School in 2015 where he participated in wrestling. After graduating, Chase worked along-side his Dad remodeling homes. He enjoyed working with his hands and was a good welder and skilled craftsman.
On September 10, 2016, Chase married Tiana (Patterson) Gries and together they had their daughter LillyAnn. Chase was a doting father who loved and cherished his “baby girl.”
He was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, dirt bikes and working on cars. His favorite instrument was guitar, which he learned to play on his own. He wrote several of his own songs which he would shyly sing at family events.
Chase was a loyal, caring and generous person who would do anything for those he loved. There will forever be a void in the lives of those he touched.
He is survived by his parents David and Katie Gries and Jody Emerson; his daughter, LillyAnn; his sister Lexie; brothers, Dakotah (Emily), Anthony and Hunter; his grandparents, Shirley and Cliff Iverson and Lyndell Gilbertson. He was loved by his many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at the LDS Church, 307 E. Andrews Ave., Parma Idaho 83660 on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 11 AM. There will be a graveside service following at Lower Boise Cemetery and a celebration of his life and lunch back at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a GoFundMe page asking for your support with this incredibly unexpected loss by donating to help cover funeral costs.
