In loving memory of Elmira Judith Obiedo, Born October 28th 1935, in Huntington Beach, California, passed away October 18th, 2019, peacefully with her family at her bedside. Elmira who went by the name of Mira, was a loving Mother to her sons Welden, Edmond and Eric Obiedo, and a loving Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, she was a loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews, as well. She precedes her son Welden Jess Obiedo, her parents Andres and Angelia Ruiz, her brothers Stanley and Alfonso Ruiz, and her sisters Lupe Herrera, Lydia Cruz, Anita Maciel, Rosalie “Chiya” Perez, and Marylou Banuelos. Her father and mother where pioneering farmers in the early years of Huntington Beach. Mira grew up with her family, near what is now Newland St. and Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach, California. She attended elementary and junior high school, as well as high school in Huntington Beach. Mira was a single mother raising three small boys on her own. Mira was a hard working mother who worked long hours and sometimes the grave yard shift in order to clothe, feed and provide a loving home for her three young boys. Mira was a caring person who worried not only for herself, but for others, and made sure her family and friends where in good health. Her last employment before she retired was 25 years with 3D instruments as a gauge technician. Mira was comical and had a great sense of humor. Mira never complained about living conditions, and never complained about her old car that she drove for transportation. Mira was raised with the old Mexican traditions handed down to her by her mother and father. She will be missed by her family and friends dearly. We all love and miss you mom, sleep peacefully.
