On Wednesday, October 30, 2019, Judith Ann Beverly (nee Brown) of Pasadena, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 79. Judith was born on June 18, 1940 in Greenup, Kentucky. A short time later, the family moved to Maryland. She then grew up in Baltimore City and in Linthicum Heights. She graduated from Brooklyn Park High School, where she excelled academically, played on the schools field hockey team, was voted the Prettiest Girl in school and also, Best Dressed. After graduation, she was accepted to Morehead State Teachers College in Morehead, Kentucky. She left school after two years to raise her two children. Her primary interests were her children, her family and many friends. Judith loved children and they loved her, as was evident by all of the neighborhood children that could be found at her house, during the course of a day. When the opportunity arose, she became a substitute teacher at the elementary school level. She then went back to school, earned a teaching certificate and taught eighth grade, for one year at Arthur Slade Catholic School in Glen Burnie. She later became interested in Human Resources and the rest of her working career was in that field. Her last position was with the American Red Cross. She ended her working career early, because it was a lot more fun to help raise her grandchildren and travel with her husband Hollis.
Judith was the beloved wife of Hollis G. Beverly and the devoted mother of Tracy Leigh Vega and her late husband Antonio M. Vega and the late Dena Elizabeth LeCompte and her husband David E. LeCompte; loving grandmother of Mark Scott Taylor II "Scottie" and Jessica Lynn Shuck, Abigale Elizabeth Ann LeCompte, Victoria Elizabeth Marie LeCompte, Alexa Leigh-Ann Vega and extended grandchildren; Chad G. Vega, Kari N. Aversa, Ashley B. Stutzman and Brandon G. Stutzman; cherished great-grandmother of Alexis Lynn Taylor and Grant Scott Taylor and many other family and friends.
