Stephen John MacPhee, 78, of Islandview passed away quietly at CBRH on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. Born in Glace Bay as the son of the late Duncan and Helen (Cameron) MacPhee he grew to be fondly known as ‘Black Steve’. He was a hardworking and jovial family man that was loved by all! In 1966 he married his childhood sweetheart, Sylvia Geddes and until her passing, they raised four children and enjoyed a 30 year union. Later on Steve was blessed with a 16 year marriage to Dorothy Stevens and loved being welcomed into the lives of Dorothy's children and their families. Before retirement when he wasn't at the controls of a tractor trailer or working 'Snow Removal' for the Department of Highways, he enjoyed playing cards, throwing some darts, having some tea with family and friends, and helping others whenever he could. His absence will be strongly felt by many! Survived by Daughters, Kimberley (Albert) Hines of Howie Center; and Judy (Lorne) Martin of Sydney; Sons Jody (Jean) MacPhee of Islandview; and Duncan (Rhea) MacPhee of Winsloe, PEI; Granddaughters, Amanda, Timika, Carmen, Rachael, and Monica; Grandsons, David, Keith, Daniel, Travis, Coady, and Joshua; Great Grandchildren Clare, John-Coady, & Asher; his Sister Mary (Bill) Crane, numerous Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Stepchildren Laura 'Lulu' Marshall and Holly Paul, both of Eskasoni and Glen of Sydney.
