Jerry W. Skelton, 71, of Etoile passed away, October 29, 2019. He was born to Roy Skelton and Faye Gunter Skelton on January 1, 1948, in Galena Park, Texas. He proudly served his country in the Army during Vietnam receiving a Purple Heart. Jerry retired as the Postmaster in Martinsville after 36 years. He loved his new Harley Davidson Trike, loved to fish on Lake Sam Rayburn and cooking out with his family.
He is survived by his children; daughter, Wendy Samarron and husband Richard of Friona, Texas; son, Jeremy Skelton and wife Melissa of Garrison, Texas; brother, Jimmy Skelton and wife Vada of Garrison; Significant other LaOuida Reneau of Nacogdoches; 7 grandchildren, Matthew Skelton, Grayce Skelton, Abigail Skelton, Ryan Tarver, Trevor Cotta, Ariana Fountain, and Paige Hancock; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Barbara Durant.
Per Jerry’s wishes he will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered along the river in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
