Walter “Ed” Wissler was born to Walter and Ethel Wissler on July 6, 1945 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ed was first married in 1965 and they had 2 children, and later divorced. On September 1, 1979, he married Wanda Schliebe. They lived in Monument Colorado until 1981 when they moved to Parachute. Ed was a heavy equipment operator. He is a retired member of Local 12 Operating Engineers. Ed retired from Garfield County Road and Bridge in 2013. He was on the Parachute Volunteer Fire Department in the early 80’s and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagle #3947 in Castle Rock, CO. Ed was an active member at Grace Bible Church in Parachute.
Ed was a devoted husband and loved his friends and family very much. He is proceeded in death by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, his step-son Dan Schliebe (Judy), step-daughter Tammy Schliebe, step-daughter Lana Spratte (Shawn), son Rob Wissler, daughter Leisa Rosen, grandchildren Tyler, Dylan, Cole, Tristan, Justin, Hailey, Brady and Chad. Sister Fern Britt, Muriel Hamilton, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Grace Bible Church in Parachute, CO on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 4:00pm. In leu of flowers the family ask that gifts be made to Grace Bible Church of Parachute in Ed’s memory.
