EASTHAM – Gunther J. Klink, 78, of Eastham, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2019 surrounded by his beloved family. He was the devoted husband to his wife of 54 years, Rose Klink of Eastham.
Born May 30, 1941 he grew up in Paramus, NJ, the son of hard working German immigrants. Gunther served 37 years with the Paramus Police Department where he was an integral part of the Detective Division and an investigator on many high profile cases in Paramus at the time. He earned his bachelor’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and retired as a Detective Lieutenant in 1999.
Proud “washashores,” Gunther and Rose bought their first cottage in Eastham in 1969 and spent summers and holidays introducing family and friends to all that Cape Cod has to offer.
In 2000 Gunther and Rose moved to Eastham full-time where they enjoyed Cape Cod sunsets, fishing and exploring the waters off Cape Cod in their Grady White boat the “Irish Rose.”
Most of all, Gunther was happiest when he was making memories with his treasured family.
In addition to his wife, Rose, Gunther is survived by his three sons, Edward and his wife Kathleen, Stephen and his wife Liz, Timothy and his wife Tish, grandchildren Elizabeth, Mackenzie, Brendan and Samantha, sister Anita, beloved nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
