Eulalio S. “Robert” Jauregui, Jr., age 74, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2019 at North Cypress Medical Center after a long battle with leukemia. He was preceded in death by his parents Eulalio S. Jauregui, Sr. and Anita Koole and brother, Mario Koole.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Laura, three sons: Robert and Justin Jauregui and Donnie Rodriguez and two step-sons: Jimmy and Shane Brewer. He also leaves behind sixteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, brothers: Bobby and Thomas Koole, and sisters: Ruth Marshall, Marguerite Koole and Debbie Resendez.
He is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a paratrooper in the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He also jumped in the only major combat jump of the war, Operation Junction City. He earned several medals, including the Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Purple Heart, and Combat Infantryman Badge. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him, as friends and family will attest.
Prior to his military service he resided in Freeport, and then Houston, TX. Upon discharged from the Army, he went work at Kwik Kopy (International Center for Entrepreneurial Development) where he eventually became printing franchise manager. Upon retirement, after more than 40 years of employment, he had worked for Bud Hadfield, owner/founder, longer than any other employee.
A Visitation will be held in Eulalio’s honor on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a Rosary at 5:30 p.m. inside the chapel of American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. The Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 9:00 a.m., after which he will be escorted to the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, where he will be laid to rest and a grateful Nation will bestow him with honors.
