ALICE MAE HUMMEL, 88, OF LOVELAND WENT TO BE WITH THE LORD ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2019. SHE WAS BORN IN HOMESTEAD, PENNSYLVANIA ON SEPTEMBER 24, 1931. ALICE WAS THE WIFE OF THE LATE RAYMOND A. HUMMEL JR.
ALICE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF JOHN AND JANET (THOMSON) MCGILL. AFTER GRADUATING FROM MUNHALL (PA) HIGH SCHOOL IN 1949 SHE ATTENDED ROBERT MORRIS BUSINESS COLLEGE IN PITTSBURGH. SHE AND RAY WERE MARRIED AT HOMESTEAD PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ON SEPTEMBER 13, 1952 SHORTLY AFTER RAY’S RETURN FROM THE KOREAN CONFLICT. AFTER A BRIEF HONEYMOON IN FLORIDA THEY LIVED THE NEXT 30 YEARS IN CLEVELAND, OHIO. THEY RELOCATED TO COLORADO IN 1982 WHERE RAY WAS A CO-OWNER OF DONRAY GLASS AND GLAZING.
ALICE WORKED IN A VARIETY OF ADMISTRATIVE ROLES AFTER RAISING HER CHILDREN. SHE WAS PASSIONATE ABOUT HER FAITH, FAMILY, ACTIVITIES WITH FRIENDS, TRAVELING, COOKING AND SERVING AT GOOD SHEPHERD CHURCH WHERE SHE WAS A MEMBER FOR OVER 35 YEARS.
SURVIVING ARE HER SONS KENT (JAN) HUMMEL OF LOVELAND, DON (ERIN) HUMMEL OF LOVELAND, 14 GRANDCHILDREN AND 7 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
IN ADDITION TO HER HUSBAND AND PARENTS, ALICE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HER 5 BROTHERS.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 10:00 AM SATURDAY AT GOOD SHEPHERD CHURCH IN LOVELAND, COLORADO WITH A RECEPTION TO FOLLOW. A PRIVATE FAMILY BURIAL WILL TAKE PLACE AT A LATER DATE.
