Roxana Carlton Clemens Nichols, 72, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at The Gardens of Statesville. Born in Birmingham, AL, she was the daughter of the late Cleetis Carlton Clemens and Georgia Anne Coyel Clemens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Martha June, Charlie and her twin sister, Rosalind, making her the last member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Nichols worked approximately 30 years for the United States Department of Defense.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Nichols (Yolanda) of Phoenix, AZ, David Nichols of Woodbridge, VA and Catherine Nichols Pitts (Matthew) of Woodbridge, VA; nine grandchildren, Sean Stanley, Elizabeth Stanley, Meara Nichols, Holly Nichols Lepp (Greg), Bryana Nichols, D.J. Nichols, Trevor Nichols, Joshua Nichols and Jayson Nichols. She is further survived by seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and three “fur-babies”, Tank, Star and Rita.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. The family will speak to friends following the service with light refreshments.
