David had a great love for Christ and his Ten Commandments. He had a passion for playing the piano and loved sharing his gift of music with others and served as Minister of Music in several churches. He also tuned pianos for many years in and around Eastern North Carolina.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Irene Manning; brother, Sydney Manning; sisters, Myrt Morris and Margaret Wiggins; and his nephew, Lyn McCandless.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Cindy Manning; six children, Dana Manning, Gina Hamilton (Jack), Carla Ireland (Charlie), Stephanie Horr (Joe), Stephen Browne (Jennifer), and Julie Gleim (Andy); three sisters, Reba Manning, Joyce McCandless (Lynwood), and Debbie Heath (Danny); sister-in-law, Laura Clark; nine grandchildren, Jessica Hamilton, Nicholas Hamilton, Nathan Manning, Hunter Ireland, Shelby Ireland, Eli Horr, Lucas Browne, Maddox Browne, and Sawyer Gleim; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Reelsboro P.H. Church, followed by the funeral service beginning at 12 p.m. with the Reverend Timothy Rice officiating. He will be laid to rest at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
