Celeste Vian Geli (Nena), 84, of Sharpsburg, passed away from complications of diabetes and heart failure on Tuesday November 5, 2019 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. She was born in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba to the late Nicolas Valentin Vian and Esperanza Quiroga Vian and later moved to Havana. Mrs. Geli was a kindergarten teacher, married the love of her life, Eudaldo R. Geli on October 28, 1961. They have two children, Eudaldo and Gizelle. She and her husband came to the United State on March 3, 1965 and resided in the metro Atlanta area ever since. Mrs. Geli worked as a Spanish teacher at North Fulton High School and then at C & S Bank, later Bank of America. She was a 24 year Pancreatic Cancer survivor.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Eudaldo; daughter, Gizelle Geli Wiedemann; son, Eudaldo N. Geli; brothers, Nicolas and Joel Vian; and sisters, Carmen Liedtke and Dolores Diaz.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10 at the Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home and Crematory, Peachtree City with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11 at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker.
