Lance William Laufman, 61 of Tallahassee, Florida; Master Painter, Craftsman, Fixer of all things, Political and Jeopardy aficionado, and the hardest working M.O.B. to all who loved him, died peacefully Wednesday November 6, 2019 in the comfort of his home.
Lance was flipping houses long before Chip and Joanna Gaines or HGTV were ever a thing. He was a master of making something out of nothing and never met a plot of wide open land and a house with good bones he didn’t like.
The women in his life were few, he particularly fancied strong women. He loved his mom, Barbara, and his sisters Becky, and Sherry, who survive him.
He married his best friend of 21 years, the love of his life Mary, who couldn’t have been a better partner to him and who he loved fiercely.
He loved his children, Jennifer, Shane, Joshua, Johnathan, Carolyn, Monte, and Penny. He taught them to fish, to select a quality hammer, how to hold a paintbrush, and the value of hard work. He took great pride in building and providing for them at every step of their life.
He took extreme pride in his 7 grandchildren, who were the light of his life, William, Jordyn, Victor, Monica, Addy , James "Bubbie", and Zane for whom he lived to hear their laughter, accomplishments, and the sound of their feet running across the floor.
He had a life-long love affair with good sharp Vermont cheese, peanut butter, rice at every meal, and sometimes after, served warm with milk and sugar.
He is preceded in death by his father William "Bill" and two brothers, Shane and Scott.
A celebration of life will be held at the St. Mark River on Sunday November 17, 2019 at 12:00pm.
