Carol Richard Marks was born in Port Arthur, Texas on November 6, 1944 to her loving parents John and Hazel Richard. She passed away on Monday November 11, 2019, in The Woodlands, Texas at the age of 75.
After graduating high school and attending college, Carol was married and began working for the United States Post Office. She was in management as a Supervisor and her employees always referred to her as tough but fair. While there, she received many accolades for top performance and letters of appreciation. After the birth of her grand-daughter, she decided to retire to take care of her grandbaby, which brought her so much joy. In her early days, she enjoyed bowling and received many trophies. She was also good at playing cards. She enjoyed playing in tournaments and with friends. She had a green thumb and real gift for growing all types of plants that sprouted and lasted for many years. Most of all Carol loved spending time with and cooking for her family and friends. If you knew anything about her cooking, you knew she could make the best gumbo anyone could ever have. She was a devout Christian and loved helping people. She devoted many years of her life delivering meals on wheels to those home bound and less fortunate. Her life was filled with purpose, the joys of life and the love of God.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents John and Hazel.
She is survived by her sons Ken (LaTundia) and Steven; granddaughter Nikole; siblings Patricia and Debra; and a host of loving family and friends.
