Bill was born December 21, 1930, son of the late Archie Stutts and Ople Bates Stutts. Years later, he changed the spelling of his last name to Stutz because he preferred the old style spelling. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army and was honorably discharged due to an injury. He did not allow being a disabled veteran keep him for pursuing many tasks. Bill became a watchmaker and practiced for many years. He was a humble caring man who would help anyone at any time. Preceding him in death were his wife, Joyce Stutz, two sons, Dana Stutz and Michael Stutz, and one sister, Edna Sheets.
Survivors include his daughter Tara Durham and husband George of Southport; two grandchildren, Corey Kearns and Patricia Stutz; nephew, Eddie Sheets and his wife Sandra; and his beloved canine companion, Maggie.
Graveside services will be Thursday, November 21st at 2:00 pm o’clock at Reeds Baptist Church Cemetery in Lexington where he was a member for many years with Reverend Henry Waterson officiating.
