He was born in Hillsborough, NH on April 28, 1931 to the late Alice M. (Waldron) and Warren G. Fisher, Sr.
Upon graduating from Keene High School, Vernon enlisted to service Country and received an honorable discharge.
On May 3, 1952, Vernon exchanged vows with Alberta L. Cummings.
Vernon had been employed by Delboat Lumber Company and took on odd jobs for family and friends. In 1993 he retired from many years working for Boise Cascade as a pulp operator.. After retirement, Vernon kept busy working part time at High Street Market assisting in stocking shelves.
Always willing to help others, Vernon will be missed for his friendly and outgoing personality. He enjoyed expanding his coin collecting and memberships with the VFW, American Legion, and the Grange.
Vernon leaves behind a daughter: Rebecca Wright and her husband Mike of Jaffrey; grandchildren: Jamie Gunseth and her husband Tyler of Keene, Cody Gunseth of Keene, and Shawna Gunseth of Oregon; four great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Vernon was predeceased by his wife who passed in 1995: Alberta Fisher; and siblings: Beverly Fuller, Avis LaBarre, Warren Fisher, Jr., and Valerie Plante.
Burial will take place in the spring. There are no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made in Vernon E. Fisher's name to a charity of one's choice.
