Rosaline was born in Charleston, West Virginia on November 8, 1939 the daughter of Frank and Ruth (Manwarren) Fazekas. She came to the Chenango County area at an early age and made her home with family in the Oxford and Tyner area. They eventually moved to Norwich where she attended the Norwich Schools. She has made her home in Sherburne for about 60 years. While living in Sherburne Rosaline had worked for the Norwich Shoe CO., TACO, Cheesebro Ponds/Sherwood Medical and lastly as custodian for the Sherburne-Earlville Central School.
Rosaline was a very hard worker all of her life. Due to the illness of her husband she was the main bread winner for her family and this was her main focus to provide the best she could. She enjoyed the simple things in life especially watching the birds and enjoyed the company of her canine friends.
On June 15, 1957 she married Carl Horton who passed away October 6, 2001.
Rosaline is survived by her children Steven (Bonnie) Horton of Earlville, Karen Coy of Earlville, Cindy Hudson of Norwich and Scott Horton of Sherburne, her ½ sisters Pat Donnelly and Sylvia McNitt of Norwich. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, son-in-law Grif Cole along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband Carl, Rosaline was predeceased by her daughter Tina and son James, her sister Betty Hare and brothers Norman Bair and Victor Shadel.
A funeral service for Rosaline will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Sherburne West Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 11-1pm.
