Mirko Krneta, of Hot Springs, only five days shy of celebrating his 90th year, passed away November 18, 2019. Born in the mountains of Bosnia to the late Nikola and Sofia Krneta, Mirko spent his youth in a tiny tin-roofed home which clung to the side of a mountain.
Mirko returned the kindness shown him by his sister who sponsored his coming to the U.S, by sponsoring many of their other family members, so they too could enjoy opportunity and freedom. To the end, he extended himself and his heart, often worrying much more about others than he worried about himself.
Mirko was a good man, an honest man, a strict yet loving father, a good friend to many, wise beyond his schooling, and the bedrock to his extended family. He will be missed by his wife, Jeanne Krneta; son, Simo Krneta; daughter, Sofia (David) Grover; grandchildren Leanne Krneta, Michael Grover, Nicholas Grover, and Alexander Grover; well-loved extended family; and many, many friends.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Maria Krneta.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 23 with a visitation an hour prior at St George Serbian Orthodox Church, 108 Donnie Ct., Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913. Burial will follow at Greenwood.
