Alfonso Ariel Carrion, born on November 19, 1955, went be with our Lord on November 18, 2019, at the age of 63. He was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin and raised San Antonio, Texas. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents: Mike and Zaida Carreon; and sister: Maria Elva Carrillo. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Melinda; loving children: Jason Carreon and Omar Carreon; siblings: Rosalba Sanchez, Miguel Carreon Jr, Robert Carreon, Sandra Carreon, Antonia Carreon, Gilbert Carreon, Ronald Carreon, and Connie Dehoyos; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Mr. Carreon served in the United State Marine Corps as a LAV Crewman in the 1980s. His family said he was proud of his accomplishment when he earned his commercial driver’s license. He was immediately employed with J & M Tank Lines, R&M Trucking and most recently, Roadrunner Temperature Controlled trucking firm. Alfonso enjoyed driving and spent many hours on the road earning a living. His CB call signs was Mr. Travelingman. “Rest easy now driver well take this load you got some well-deserved rest well see you on the other side.”
He will be dearly missed by all his close family and friends. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd., San Antonio, Texas, 78211, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. On Thursday, December 5, 2019 the Mass of Resurrection will take place at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alfonso's loving wife, Melinda Carrion.
