Henry Short, Jr., of Alpharetta, GA, formerly of Robbins, IL, was born March 31, 1951. He departed this life for the next on November 16, 2019. Henry was the beloved and devoted husband to Constance Marie Clark for forty-seven years of marriage, fifty years together. Henry was the proud father of Philip Armond Short.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Short, his sister Christine and his brothers Walter and Daniel. He was the third of eight children of Henry Short and Beatrice Brooks. Loving brother of Christine, Walter, Wiley, Bobbie Jean, Tommy, Nate, and Daniel. Uncle to Rochelle, Daniel, Lindsay, and Alex. Henry is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Henry was a thirty-six year retired employee of the United Parcel Service. He was one of the Founding Members of the MARCH Foundation (Mutual Alliance Restoring Community Hope). He not only made a name for himself, but helped others to achieve their potential. Henry was admired and respected at his job and loved by his family and many friends.
He had a love for cars, golf and bowling; but most of all for his family and his friends which he always showed through his love and generosity.
Visitation and pre-pass will be Saturday, November 30, 2019, 10:00 AM until time of service 11:00 AM at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 940 N. Orleans St. Chicago, IL 60610. Interment to follow at Burr Oak Cemetery,4400 W. 127th St., Alsip, IL 60803.
