Marie was the nicest and kindest person in the world, the best mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always took care of others before herself and had a knack for having a unique loving relationship with each person in her life. Her grandchildren/great grandchildren knew her as “Grandma Jelly Beans” as there was always a snack as sweet as she was around her house.
Marie loved her neighborhood and made lifelong friends, including The Olivers and The Tillotas, as well as other families on her street in the neighborhood. We are so blessed to have had wonderful neighbors that loved one another and shared their lives together.
Marie took great care of her yard, plants, and had signature “ducks” on display in the front yard, whereas she “changed their outfits” based on the season.
Many on her street looked forward to the ducks changing outfits!
Marie was very active her entire life, a member of the YMCA in NW Houston for the last 35 years. She cherished her time in aerobics every week and made many friends over the years. Marie never wanted to miss “her classes”.
Marie was a devoted Catholic and long-time member of St. Ambrose church where she actively enjoyed serving in her church community, the choir, and updating the hymn number board each Sunday.
Marie was well known for her baking Skills. Everyone that knew her was fond of her variety of cookies, pies and cakes. Her Christmas cookies, including the chocolate peanut butter balls, chocolate coconut balls, chocolate mint balls, and pecan sandies were well known by all her children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, James Cameron, who passed in 2004.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
The Cameron family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church, specifically those in the choir and the entire church family.
