Lorainne came into this world in her home in Anselmo, Nebraska on November 26, 1929 and left it on November 26, 2019 in Yakima, WA. She shared her last birthday with us on earth and finished celebrating in heaven with our dad.
She was the one of three children born to Albert and Ada Anderson. She attended grade school in a country school in West Anselmo. Eventually her parents moved south of Brewster, Nebraska where Lorainne attended Brewster high school. She graduated in May of 1946 with only five in her graduating class including Roland who would be her future husband. In August 1947 Roland came back to Nebraska and moved her to Washington State where his family had moved to Grandview in May 1947. Lorainne worked as a nanny for a family in Yakima until she married Roland on April 3, 1948 at the Donnelly Hotel in Yakima. In April 2018 they celebrated their 70th anniversary with their family.
As her life progressed she worked various jobs with her final job being at Del Monte in Toppenish, lasting 20 years. This was all accomplished while she and Roland raised four children on a small farm near Buena, WA.
Our mom enjoyed reading, sewing, RV camping with the Apple Rovers, and crocheting. She crocheted each of their grandchildren an afghan for their high school graduation in their choice of colors and design. She sewed numerous items of clothing for her daughters as they grew up and later, a beautiful wedding dress for each of them.
She enjoyed family time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They all loved grandma’s smiles and hugs and her homemade rolls she made for all the annual holidays. She continued her love of children, even with her dementia, taking care of the “babies” (life size baby dolls) at her care facility.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roland, her parents, Albert and Ada, her sister Shirley Hartley, her brother Gayle Anderson, brother-in-law, Jim Bolin, nephews Keith Hartley and Farren Anderson.
She is survived by her four children and spouses: Pat (Vickie) Duncan, Joy (Roger) Underwood, Noel (Charolett) Duncan and Janine (Kerry) Stoltz; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
