Moo was born on July 19, 1978, in Bangkok, Thailand. He graduated with an M.S. in Computer Science from Assumption University of Thailand in 2000. He moved to the United States in 2007 for graduate studies at Pennsylvania State University. Moo was an active member of the Thai Student Association at Penn State. It was there that he met Nui, the love of his life. After earning a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2016, he married Nui and joined Broncus Medical, Inc., in San Jose. A talented software engineer, Moo had recently been promoted to Principal Imaging R&D Engineer based on his performance and contributions to the company.
Moo was a kind and great gentleman. He had a positive attitude that inspired all who knew him. Moo’s can-do outlook shined and was always apparent to his family, friends, and colleagues. He loved helping people in need and adored his and Nui’s four cats. Moo also enjoyed snowboarding, tennis, inline skating, cycling, and hiking. On many weekends, Moo and Nui actively explored the San Francisco Bay Area.
Moo is survived by his wife and by his family in Thailand: his father, Sukee Cheirsilp; mother, Porntipa Cheirsilp; brother, Chanin Cheirsilp; sister, Prof. Dr. Benjamas Cheirsilp, as well as two uncles: Dr. Arkom Cheirsilp and Wittaya Cheirsilp.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Roses, Oak Hill Funeral Home, San Jose, CA, followed by a Buddhist funeral service at 1:00 p.m. and cremation at 2:30 p.m. Moo’s ashes will be taken back to Bangkok, Thailand, where his family and friends can say their final farewell before his urn is floated into the sea.
