Mrs. Richards passed away November 26, 2019 in Tyler. She was born December 19, 1958 in Fort Riley, Kansas to Joe Irving and Alice Joan Phillips Yates.
Charlotte was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton. Her family lived in Irving before moving to Myrtle Springs and then to Canton. She worked for The Iron Pot Grill and Jenya's Kitchen for many years. Charlotte loved cooking, garage sales, flea markets, car shows, gun shows, helping people, old movies and as a true Texan, the Alamo. She loved music, especially George Strait, CCR, John Fogerty and classic rock. Most of all, she loved being a MawMaw.
Mrs. Richards is preceded in death by her husband, James Garlon Richards, Jr.; granddaughter, Ellie Mae Richards; and her father, Joe Yates.
Charlotte is survived by her son, James Garlon Richards, III and his wife, Heather of Canton; daughter, Tanna Marie Chitty of Canton; son, Joseph Michael Richards and his wife, Shelby of Ben Wheeler; her married in love for the last 12 years, Billy Crowell of Edgewood; seven grandchildren who called her "MawMaw:" James Edward Richards, Madelynn Jane Richards, Jaxon Irving Richards, Jaden Lee Chitty, Cedric James Eugene Talley, Aubrey Lynn Richards and Korbyn Wayne Richards; mother, Joan Yates; and three sisters: Tammy Tidwell, Mary Shinn and Melinda Phillips.
