Antolin “Tony” Camacho, age 68 died from a long battle of cancer on November 26, 2019 at his home surrounded by his beloved family and friends. Tony Camacho is survived by wife, Bridget, two children, Michele (Camacho) Garofano, Robert A. Camacho. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Amanda D. Garofano and Robbie J. Camacho, and also his beloved furry children, Petey, Peaches, Digger and granddog Patrick.
Tony is a First Field force Vietnam Veteran. He served 3 years from 1968 to 1971 in the United States Army (BTRY C 5th BN 22nd ARTY RVN USARPAC Vietnam). Tony also went on four missions to Korea (BTRY C 1st Tab 25th ARTY USARPAC Korea). While Serving in the United States Army, he earned several medals, including National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, Vietnam Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Expert Badge and Rifle Bar and Sharpshooter Badge Rifle Bar. Tony was wounded while fighting for his country but was unable to receive his purple heart.
Tony was born in Bronx, NY. He was raised by his grandmother, Juana Rivera, where he lived with all his cousins. He loved to be with family and friends playing cards, hunting and fishing. Hunting was his passion which he enjoyed with his best friends Butchy, Bobby and Johnny, may they all RIP.
Tony was a truck driver for 35 years (#7114). Tony and his beautiful wife of 49 years, Bridget, were highschool sweethearts. They got married once he left the service. They went on to have two children and lived on Long Island “Medford” NYC for 13 years. They moved to Florida where they shared a beautiful home and life together for 34 years, until November 26th when God called his beautiful strong soldier home.
Tony will be deeply missed and his memory will continue on burning in our hearts.
