Earl is also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Penton Waller; and his brother, Carl Leon Waller, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Earl T. Waller, Jr. (Jenny); daughter, Jeanne W. Trammell (Thomas); two grandchildren, Austin Trammell (Bailey); and Summer Trammell; along with three great-grandchildren, Levi Turner Trammell, Cadence Mae Trammell, and Hudson Thomas Trammell. He is also survived by his loving friend, Cherry Dunning; brother-in-law, Ben Penton (Grace), and sisters-in-law, Helen Waller and Gloria Miceli (Joe) and many wonderful cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Earl was a graduate of Lanier High School in Montgomery, AL, and attended Auburn University. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Earl was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Previously, he was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Hoover. After his retirement from home building, he was active serving Meals on Wheels and loved helping others.
He always expressed joy and gratitude for his loved ones, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Earl’s last residence was the Col. Robert L. Howard Veteran’s Home where he received loving care from the doctors, nurses and staff, which is greatly appreciated by his family.
Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Monday, December 2, 2019, from 1:00-2:00 pm with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. Burial with military honors will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
